This is a Fast Executive Search assignment where the selected candidate will be offered permanent employment with the client from the start.
Our client is one of the largest retail groups in Denmark and the Nordics, and you will become part of the Group Tax Department, working with a wide range of projects and operational tasks within VAT and energy duties.
This is a key role where you will help ensure compliance, optimize processes, and provide expert support to the business.
Responsibilities and Tasks
VAT:
• Perform VAT controlling across a large group – identify and mitigate VAT-related risks.
• Provide advisory and guidance to colleagues throughout the organization.
• Handle complex legal tasks, including drafting binding rulings for the authorities.
• Collaborate with another VAT specialist and contribute to VAT reporting for the group’s six companies.
Energy Duties (primarily electricity):
• Ensure correct calculation and settlement of energy duties, including:
• Room heating and process duty
• Excess heat
• Resale of electricity
• Conduct ongoing controlling of energy duties.
• Ensure accurate bookkeeping of duties in SAP.
• Prepare a separate duty accounts overview.
• Collaborate with technical colleagues to ensure correct energy measurement across the company’s many locations.
Qualifications
• Strong experience in VAT, tax, or duty-related controlling, ideally from a large group or audit background.
• Solid knowledge of SAP – experience with SAP S/4HANA implementation is an advantage.
• Ability to handle complex regulations and provide clear, business-oriented guidance.
• Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and ability to collaborate across departments.
The department currently consists of 7 employees and plays a key role in supporting the group’s ongoing finance transformation and compliance initiatives.
