Recruitment of Chief Executive Officer
On behalf of an established and profitable company operating within power and automation solutions, Nextt & Mason is now recruiting a CEO for a permanent position, based in the Malmö area.
The core business (with a strong market position and proven expertise in customised solutions within power distribution and automation) delivers the full chain
from engineering and design to manufacturing, installation, service, maintenance and upgrading. The business is in a strategic growth phase with an approved business plan and clear growth targets, driven by strong structural forces such as electrification and increased investment in critical infrastructure.
The role is filled as a planned generational transition, where the current CEO moves on to a group-level responsibility. The outgoing CEO will work in parallel during the onboarding period to ensure a well-managed handover.
We are now looking for an operational growth leader who can execute the business plan while identifying and prioritising the opportunities the market presents.
The Role
You will take full operational, commercial and cultural responsibility for the company. The assignment has two parallel tracks. The first: to scale and further develop the existing business without jeopardising what works. The second: to proactively drive new business development towards prioritised customer segments, new service areas and new geographies, and to shift the organisation from a tender-driven to a proactive business model.
You report to the Chairman of the Board and the owners.
We are looking for
You have documented results from having led an organisation through a similar phase; with full and consolidated responsibility for strategy, P&L, business development, operations and people in technically complex, project-based operations. As a benchmark: at least eight to ten years with this level of responsibility and an organisation of approximately 100 employees.
You have solid and relevant industry knowledge within power and automation solutions. This knowledge is needed both to understand and develop the existing business, and to identify new opportunities and determine whether and when these should be prioritised alongside the business plan. A strong network within the sector is a clear advantage.
You have documented and personal experience of building new business on top of an existing, well-functioning operation and of shifting the organisation from a tender-driven to a proactive approach.
You have concrete experience of capacity scaling in environments where specialist expertise is a critical bottleneck.
You have experience of regional expansion and building teams across multiple geographies.
The role requires a leader who is equally at home in a client meeting and on the shop floor as in the boardroom, with the humility to respect an organisation with a long history and deep expertise, and the courage to lead it forward.
