Our customer enabling the transition to renewable energy by unlocking the full potential of hydropower. Their modular, floating hydrokinetic turbines are placed in an optimized microgrid, increasing the energy output of existing hydropower plants without new infrastructure or environmental harm. The system is scalable, affordable, and non-invasive. Their technology also delivers sustainable power in remote areas and mission-critical energy solutions for disaster relief and defense.
Our client is now entering an exciting new phase bringing their breakthrough technology to market. To support this transition, we are looking for an
Interim Senior Technical Project Manager
to drive key technical initiatives with high pace and clear delivery focus.
What you'll get to do
As an Interim Senior Technical Project Manager, you will lead complex technical and R&D initiatives from early concept to real-world deployment during a defined assignment period. You will be responsible for turning ambitious company goals into structured execution, ensuring alignment across teams, managing risks, and delivering results within agreed timelines.
This is a highly cross-functional assignment where you will work closely with engineering, operations, product, and leadership. You will quickly build trust, create clarity, and establish ways of working that enable efficient execution from day one.
Your main responsibilities (during the assignment) will be to:
Lead end-to-end delivery of prioritized technical and R&D initiatives from scoping and planning to execution, handover, and close-out
Build and manage execution plans (roadmaps, budgets, timelines, resources) and drive weekly cadence and follow-up
Ensure delivery against scope, budget, timeline, and quality targets—raise trade-offs early and propose options
Identify risks, dependencies, and permitting/regulatory considerations, and drive pragmatic mitigation actions
Establish lightweight reporting structures, dashboards, and decision documentation to support fast, transparent governance
Act as the main point of contact across internal teams, partners, suppliers, and authorities throughout the assignment
Drive alignment and momentum across engineering, operations, product, and leadership; remove blockers and enable decisions
Leave the organization stronger by improving project ways of working, templates, and tools for continued use after handover
We are looking for the following qualifications: (interim profile)
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field
8–12+ years of experience leading complex technical, engineering, or R&D projects end-to-end (consulting/interim experience is a plus)
Proven ability to ramp up quickly, create structure in ambiguity, and deliver measurable outcomes
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
Experience working cross-functionally with engineering, operations, product, and external partners
Familiarity with regulatory, permitting, and risk management in energy or infrastructure is a plus
Proficiency with modern project management tools; PMP/PRINCE2 or similar certification is a plus
Structured, proactive, and solution-oriented—comfortable taking ownership and driving decisions in a fast-moving environment
Success in this assignment looks like:
Clear execution plan in place, predictable delivery cadence, de-risked critical dependencies, and a documented handover that enables the team to continue smoothly after the assignment ends.
