Our client, a smaller industrial company in Zealand, is seeking an experienced Interim Sales Specialist to elevate the company’s sales efforts and results to a new level. Their machines are sold to large industrial companies across most of the world.
The assignment has a particular focus on unlocking the significant untapped potential among new and existing customers. This will be achieved through working with the existing pipeline, handling inquiries and interest from potential customers, and exploring new markets.
The role is operational with no personnel management and requires strong commercial understanding and the ability to drive sales initiatives in collaboration with the rest of the organization.
You will be the primary driver of the sales area in close cooperation with a colleague. You will report directly to the company’s CEO.
Areas of responsibility
Project sales and customer development (primary focus)
- Drive sales of the core products (machines for industry)
- Ensure achievement of sales targets for new projects and the existing pipeline
- Contribute to project sales activities, especially where technical understanding and strong customer insight are required
- Participate in international sales dialogues, quotation work, and meetings
Utilization of potential among existing customers (secondary focus)
- Identify and map opportunities for increased service and spare parts revenue among current customers
- Conduct customer analyses, dialogues, and meetings with a focus on needs, operational challenges, and value creation
- Develop and describe service agreement concepts (e.g., levels, packages, pricing, response times, spare parts, services)
Profile characteristics
- Experience with project sales, aftermarket, and maintenance concepts
- Preferably a background in industry, machine manufacturing, or technical project sales
- Experience with international sales is a clear advantage
- Documented ability to execute on existing pipeline and drive commercial initiatives
Professional competencies
- Strong technical understanding and the ability to quickly familiarize oneself with machine and production solutions
- Skilled in customer analysis, needs assessment, and value-based selling
- Structured approach to building service concepts and processes
- Fluent English at negotiation level
Personal qualities
- High energy and the ability to create momentum in a short time
- Outgoing, relationship-oriented, and able to create trust-based collaboration with both customers and internally within the company
- Action-oriented with a strong commercial mindset
