Our client is seeking an Interim Project Manager to ensure the execution of several infrastructure projects within a large Danish municipality. There is an opportunity for a handover from the current Project Manager.
With 7 independent project managers reporting to the role, the position requires strong, robust leadership and extensive professional expertise within contracting, construction projects, project advisory, financial management, and stakeholder management.
The project portfolio has a combined budget in the three-digit million range and carries significant political attention, as the infrastructure projects are intended to increase the capacity and quality of selected welfare services within the municipality. One of the key projects involves expanding capacity within the daycare sector.
There will be close cross-organisational collaboration within the municipality, which is characterised by a positive working environment and an informal culture.
The IPM reports to the Centre Manager for the relevant area. There is good flexibility to work both on-site and off-site.
Requirements for the Right Profile
An experienced leader who is self-directed and confident in their own leadership style
A welcoming personality and a skilled people manager for project managers
A professional profile with extensive experience in contract law, project management, client advisory, and related fields
Significant experience with portfolio management of infrastructure projects, with an educational background in engineering, law, or public administration
Knowledge of public administration and processes is an advantage, but not a requirement
The Municipality / The Team
Over recent years, the projects have been in preparation, and several are now entering the execution phase.
The team consists of 7 project managers who collectively hold a wide range of professional competencies and handle much of the day-to-day work independently. However, there is a need for an IPM to ensure overall prioritisation, execution within established frameworks, and relevant sparring with the project managers as the need arises.
