Interim Head of Supply Chain Management

For our client, we are looking for an interim Head of Supply Chain Management

In this role, you will focus on establishing and developing the department while coaching and supporting the employees. The role is well suited for a leader who thrives in complex, cross‑functional environments. You create clarity in unclear situations, handle competing priorities with confidence, and promote strong collaboration across different interfaces.

In this position, you lead the Supply Chain Management function and ensure that planning, logistics, and project‑related supply chain activities work effectively together and support the organization’s overall goals.

You will work closely with commercial teams, project execution teams, and global procurement teams, making collaboration a central part of the role.

The role covers four closely connected areas:

Portfolio and Capacity Planning

  • Take responsibility for planning throughout the entire project lifecycle – from tender phase to execution

  • Ensure clear visibility of capacity and that priorities are well aligned between hubs and business areas

  • Establish and maintain structured planning practices, including S&OP processes

Execution of Procurement and Capacity Allocation

  • Ensure that both internal and external capacity is utilized in the best possible way

  • Act as the link between procurement and operations by translating procurement plans into practical project delivery

  • Work closely with Group Procurement, which is responsible for supplier strategy, frameworks, and negotiations

Logistics and Network Performance

  • Develop and improve setups for logistics, warehousing, and storage

  • Ensure smooth and efficient material flows from production and warehouses to storage and installation sites

  • Drive standardization and continuous improvements within the logistics area

Integration of Supply Chain in Projects

  • Maintain the overall coherence by ensuring that supply chain functions effectively throughout the entire project chain

  • Clarify roles, processes, and ways of working between teams and locations

  • Act proactively regarding risks and manage trade‑offs or escalations that may affect delivery

Mandatory Competencies:

  • Extensive experience in supply chain, operations, or planning in project‑driven environments

  • Strong understanding of end‑to‑end supply chain flows, including planning, procurement execution, and logistics

  • Ability to lead effectively in matrix organizations and create alignment among many stakeholders

  • Strong decision‑making ability with the capacity to balance cost, capacity, delivery, and risk

  • Strong leadership skills
