Interim Head of Product Operations & Manufacturing

Excellent opportunity for a permanent position in the role

Our client is an international group that develops and delivers digital surveillance and monitoring solutions based on smart technology to customers globally. The Danish entity serves as the group's development and manufacturing unit, designing and producing both physical and digital products.

The company is on an ambitious growth journey, and the position is being established as part of a generational leadership change, in which the current leader will gradually hand over responsibility to a new interim leader. There is a need for an experienced profile who can ensure a solid handover while also elevating production and supply chain to the next level.

You will have overall responsibility for production, which primarily consists of assembly and final assembly, with components supplied by subcontractors. The task is to ensure stable operations across two shifts, while driving the transformation from a production-focused setup to a scalable and robust operations platform that supports growth, supply security, and efficient NPI (New Product Introduction).

You will be part of the top management team in Denmark and will have 8 direct reports as well as indirect management responsibility for approximately 25 employees via the production manager. You will also be responsible for Supply Chain and Procurement and will help develop and professionalize this area. Quality and technical industrialization fall outside the role, but you will ensure a strong operational handover of new products in close collaboration with R&D and Quality.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure stable and efficient production characterized by high quality

  • Build a robust and scalable supply chain that supports growth and reduces risk

  • Drive NPI readiness, ramp-up, and a stable transition of new products into operations

  • Develop strategic supplier and manufacturing partnerships – from classic supplier agreements to more binding collaboration models – and ensure a structured process for supplier selection and evaluation

  • Optimize budget, costs, and inventory balance with a focus on margins and working capital

  • Ensure early involvement of the operations perspective in development projects, so that new products are designed for scalable production

  • Lead and develop the salaried staff with clear goals, clear direction, and hands-on coaching

  • Coach and develop the production manager so that, over time, they can take on full responsibility for capacity and resource planning as well as day-to-day operations among the operators

  • Act as a link between development/R&D and operations, ensuring that new products and process changes are handed over to stable operations

Profile:

  • Solid experience with production, sourcing, supply chain, and product delivery – preferably from assembly or manufacturing environments within electromechanical products, electronics, IoT, or hardware

  • Experience with ERP, production data, and structured operational follow-up – preferably including experience from an ERP implementation or upgrade

  • Experience with supplier development, contract manufacturing, or ODM collaborations – or the desire to build this up

  • Strong commercial understanding of costs, supplier performance, inventory balance, and working capital

  • Experience leading through a transition period – including being hands-on where necessary while systematically delegating responsibility to the team

  • A good level of Danish (important for dialogue with production employees) as well as fluent, negotiation-level English
