Interim Head of Department – Major Financial Services Company

Our client is a 100% Danish-owned financial services company with a strong and loyal customer base.

To support their headquarters in Copenhagen, we are seeking an experienced Interim Head of Department to lead a team of approximately 20 highly skilled specialists.

The department is organized into agile development teams, working closely with Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and IT developers. The culture is based on trust and accountability, emphasizing collaboration and professional excellence.

While the daily task management is handled within the teams, the Interim Head of Department will be responsible for people leadership, change management, and employee engagement—ensuring cohesion, direction, and motivation during a period of ongoing organizational and business transformation.

The role also involves regular customer interaction and close collaboration with the Head of IT Development and their team.

We are looking for an empathetic and confident leader who can bring structure, unity, and stability while navigating change in a complex environment.

Reporting: To the Director of the Service Division

Key Responsibilities:

• Overall leadership and management of the department and its employees

• Build cohesion, trust, and a sense of community across agile teams

• Conduct employee development and performance dialogues

• Lead the department through ongoing organizational changes

• Support potential restructuring or organizational adjustments

• Define clear strategic goals and set the overall direction for the department

• Strengthen team culture and cross-functional collaboration

• Participate in customer and stakeholder meeting

• Contribute actively to management and leadership meetings
