Interim CTO (Chief Technical Officer)

For our client, we are seeking an Interim CTO to lead a technology organization in a phase of rapid growth and ahead of an upcoming product launch. The company develops solutions for secure communication via hybrid satellite and terrestrial networks.

As Interim CTO, you will lead a development team of approximately 20-25 people, be part of the executive management team, and be responsible for ensuring progress and delivery in product development. A key focus of the assignment is to establish realistic development plans and ensure the launch of a new product within approximately three months.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the company’s technology organization and development team.

• Drive the work towards launching a new product within a short timeframe.

• Ensure effective collaboration between software, hardware, and product development.

• Prioritize development resources and create a clear structure in the development portfolio.

• Work closely with the CEO and the rest of the executive management team on technical choices and product strategy.

• Ensure that development work supports the company’s growth and commercial goals.

Profile

• Documented experience from leading technical roles, such as CTO or equivalent.

• Experience leading product development within both software and hardware.

• Experience with low-level programming and embedded systems is considered a merit.

• Good understanding of development languages such as Rust, C, and Python (the role does not require hands-on coding).

• Experience leading development teams in fast-moving product or technology companies.

• Ability to create structure, clarity, and delivery focus within development organizations.

• Strong communication skills and experience working in an executive management team.

• Fluent in Swedish and English.
