Our client is a subsidiary within a global industrial group employing nearly 20,000 people worldwide. The current Finance Manager is focusing on optimizing a range of processes and procedures across finance, reporting, and operational efficiency.
As Interim Business Controller, you will take responsibility for daily controlling activities - particularly around monthly closing - while dedicating the remaining time to streamlining, analyzing, and automating financial processes, reports, and data handling procedures that require improvement.
The current Business Controller is transitioning to another position, and a recruitment process for a permanent replacement has begun. The Finance Manager wishes to bring in an interim resource to maintain momentum, ensure a smooth handover, and complete ongoing process improvements and automation initiatives that will simplify future workflows.
The company has a flat and informal organization, and you will report directly to the Finance Manager, collaborating closely with colleagues across departments.
Key Responsibilities:
• Independently, but in close cooperation with the Finance Manager, ensure the quality of monthly closings, variance analysis, reporting, and forecasting
• Maintain, operate, and optimize various analyses, reports, KPI structures, and financial controls (primarily in Excel)
• Ensure data quality and integrity in financial reporting
• Evaluate and improve processes and data flows, with a particular focus on the Dynamics Axapta 2009 ERP system
• Act as the Finance Manager’s right hand on financial operations and as project lead for collaboration with external IT consultants
• Manage multiple priorities efficiently to maximize the impact of process improvements and automation initiatives
